Period Poverty exists for Teens and Adults

Our HER Project initiative aims to Help Educate and Reduce Period Poverty by offering period supply packs to our Community Distribution Partners. This program supports low-income teenage girls and women in need of period products. HER Project Period Packs are distributed to the Stark County Educational Service Center and Akron Children's Hospital School Health Service, reaching 64 schools across nine counties.

The counties HER Project serves are:

Carroll • Columbiana • Mahoning • Portage • Stark • Summit
Trumbell • Tuscarawas • Wayne

  • 1 in 4 U.S. women struggle to afford period supplies each year

  • 1 in 5 low-income women report missing work, school, or similar events due to lack of access to period supplies

  • Only 4% of U.S. women are aware of a local resource where they access free or reduced-cost period supplies

  • Pad Packs are made up of 20 pads and 5 liners. Tampon Packs have 20 tampons and 5 liners.
